EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Taylor Lilley recorded a career-high 28 points and Paul Westhead won his women's college coaching debut in Oregon's 86-48 victory against Eastern Washington on Monday.

Lilley's seven three-pointers on 14 attempts were also a career-high for the senior guard. Oregon reserve junior forward Nicole Canepa also recorded a career-high 17 points and added 10 rebounds.

All of which made for a successful opener for Westhead, the only coach to win titles in the NBA (Los Angeles Lakers, 1980) and the WNBA (Phoenix Mercury, 2007).

Westhead, 70, was hired by Oregon last spring, replacing Bev Smith, to revitalize the program with his high-scoring, run-and-gun style. He is in his first season coaching women at the NCAA level.

Oregon had its highest-scoring game since an 86-73 win against Arizona in 2007, and its largest margin of victory since a 102-36 win against Prairie View A&M in 2005.
