Phoenix Suns prove to be comeback kings early in season
Updated 11/24/2009 3:07 AM ET
The sun doesn't set on the Phoenix Suns in the fourth quarter. The resilient Suns (11-3) are 5-3 this season when trailing after three quarters. That's more wins than the Suns had all of last season when trailing entering the fourth quarter (4-30).

The Suns also have overcome double-digit deficits in five of their wins, something they did seven times in 2008-09. Four of those five comebacks were on the road, most recently Nov. 17. The Suns trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half against the Houston Rockets, but stormed to a 33-23 advantage in the fourth quarter to win 111-105.

"I think we have a lot of resiliency and depth. That's the key to a lot of our wins," Suns guard Steve Nash said after that game.

Six Suns average double digits in scoring.

Suns coach Alvin Gentry credits the defense in the fourth quarter. Opponents are shooting less than 45% in the final 12 minutes.
