Jackie O's half brother pleads not guilty in kid-porn case

MEDFORD, Oregon (AP) — James Auchincloss, half brother of the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, has been freed without bail after pleading not guilty to charges alleging he possessed and duplicated child pornography.

Dressed casually in a blue blazer, polo shirt and slacks, the 62-year-old Ashland, Ore., resident appeared Tuesday in Jackson County Circuit Court.

His attorney, Carl Caplan, waived reading of the 25-count indictment charging Auchincloss encouraged child sexual abuse by the duplication and possession of child pornography.

The charges were filed after Auchincloss' personal assistant for many years told investigators he had warned Auchincloss about viewing child pornography.

Prosecutors did not oppose Auchincloss' release.
