Proba-2 prepares to launch into orbit at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northern Russia late on Nov. 1, 2009. This is the second satellite in the European Space Agency’s Earth Explorer series - the Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity mission - and the second demonstration satellite under the ESA’s Project for Onboard Autonomy.
